You have no idea.

Absolutely no idea how terrible the dolphins are being treated.

The Cove.

Just caught this documentary last night with my family.
It was terrible, the way dolphins are treated.
Esp in Taiji, Japan.

They capture dolphins by exploiting their sensitivity towards sound,
& sell them for abt a hundred & fifty thousand to dolphinariums around the world.
People come & select the dolphins they want,
& what happens to those that arent chosen?
These horrid people will bring them to a cove & kill them.

The sea turned red instantly & injured dolphins(they spear them) can be seen trying to catch their breath & they are obviously very much in pain.
This happens every sept till march.
So it has just started, http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20100901/ts_afp/japananimalenvironmentdolphin_20100901073608

Every day, as we are fretting about studies or as we are having fun, dolphins are being killed at Taiji.
I know just mere talking isnt gng to be helpful.
& im quite unable in a sense that i cant go to some world union or smth to address this issue.
But i hope that when you people read this,
You will take out a little time & watch this show.
'The Cove.'

Every dolphin's nightmare..

Im sure you dont know that dolphin meat is being sold.
Although the demand for it is low, it is still sold.
Often sold on the pretext that its the meat of bigger whales & has some sort of nutrition value, dolphin meat actually contains high levels of mercury which is harmful to humans.
So why do they have to kill those dolphins that werent chosen, why cant they just let them go?

Also, those that were chosen arent exactly lucky.
Dolphins are meant to be in the wild.
Those shows you see in the dolphinariums, like Dolphin Lagoon in Sg(there's such a place right?), dolphins are so intelligent & dilligent in performing those shows for you.
But do you know that they are suffering from immense stress??

Something should be done & i hope by sharing this with you, more & more people will know about this & maybe one day, the masses will reach out to some organization powerful enough to shut down the cove & give dolphins some protection.
